As part of the Strengthening and Sustaining Ohio’s Suicide Prevention Coalitions Initiative, seven coalitions across Ohio received funding to support the development of community-level strategic plans for suicide prevention and an ecosystem plan.

Phase 2: Conducting a SWOT Analysis on Five of the CDC’s Strategies for Preventing Suicide and Preparing to Prioritize with the Coalition
Overview
The goal of Phase 2 is to conduct a SWOT Analysis on five of the CDC’s Strategies for Preventing Suicide and prepare to prioritize with the coalition. This process will occur in two steps:
- A small group (or groups) will conduct a SWOT analysis on five of the CDC strategies for preventing suicide.
- A small group will reflect on the SWOT process and consider potential next steps to prepare for prioritization with the coalition

Phase 3: Selecting a CDC Strategy for Preventing Suicide
Overview
The goal of Phase 3 is for coalitions to choose one of the CDC strategies for preventing suicide to work with as they learn the needs assessment and strategic planning processes. For this phase, coalitions will be choosing from one the following CDC Strategies: Strengthen Access and Delivery of Suicide Care, Create Protective Environments, Teach Coping and Problem-Solving Skills, Identify and Support People at Risk, and Lessen Harms and Prevent Future Risk.
