As specified in House Bill 28, multimedia application access shall include crisis hotline contact information, suicide warning signs, resources offered and free-of-cost applications.
What are multimedia applications and why are they Important resources?
Multimedia application access refers to a multi-platform program (self-contained or linked to an extant application) that can be used to access accurate and effective suicide prevention resources. The multimedia application is free to the campus community*, comprehensive and customizable to each institution.
Effective multimedia application access is important because it provides students, faculty, staff and campus community members with quick and easy information on behavioral health* facts, campus and community services, prevention and treatment resources, referral sources, and answers to frequently asked questions. Multimedia application tools help to provide users with constant and sustainable access to needed information at low (to institution) and no cost to public IHE community members. Multimedia applications can greatly assist campuses in supporting campus community members in distress.
